A day at the movies: Joker

We've seen plenty of superhero films before, but it's pretty rare that we see films solely about super villains. And this Halloween season, DC decided to unleash a film about their most popular villain, The Joker. Hoo boy, this is the one movie that has been dominating headlines ever since the first trailer debuted, and mostly it was for all the wrong reasons. People were going on and on about how this movie was going to embolden incels and cause mass shootings. Well having seen the film, I can happily report that there have been no shootings in my area or anywhere in the country for that matter. But what about the film itself? Is this truly a worthy origin story for the Clown Prince of Crime? Or is it a complete and utter joke? Lets find out. The Good Where do I begin? First off there's the cinematography.  Gotham has always been known as a dark and dreary city and the movie perfectly captures that. Somehow the film manages to make a city full of grime look absolute...

A day at the movies: Spider-Man: Far From Home

Marvel's not slowing down anytime soon are they? They started the year off with a bang as "Captain Marvel" grossed $1 billion at the box office, and then "Avengers: Endgame" became the second highest grossing movie of all time. And now they are finally bringing phase 3 to an end with everyone's favorite wall crawler. After the events of the final battle with Thanos, Peter Parker is starting to resume his life as both a student and superhero while still mourning the loss of Tony Stark. As such, he heads out on a field trip to Europe with some of his classmates who were also victims of Thanos. But when new villains known as the elementals start to wreak havoc, Spider-Man is recruited by Nick Fury to team up with a new hero named Mysterio in order to save the world. So does this sequel continue the story of Spider-Man in a meaningful way or will it make you want to stay far from it? Let's find out. The Good Ok what I love the most about this m...

A Day at the Movies: Toy Story 4

Man the 2019 summer blockbuster season has truly been, well, a bust hasn't it? It's almost like the only movies released so far that have been bonafide hits so far are Avengers: Endgame, John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum, and Aladdin . But Godzilla: King of Monsters? Not only did it get torn apart by critics but it really disappointed at the box office. MIB: International? A flop. And the less said about the dumpster fire known as X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the better. But thankfully things might be able to turn around with the fourth adventure of Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Toy Story 4.   Taking place a couple of years after the events of Toy Story 3, Woody and the gang have been settling down nicely with their new kid Bonnie after Andy left for college. However, things haven't been so great for Woody as Bonnie hasn't been playing with him much. Still determined to make sure his new kid is happy Woody tags along with her to school where she ends up creating a new toy n...

Five Films That I Want To See In The MCU Post Endgame

Hey guys, It's John and ok lets just cut to the chase. Who here has seen Avengers Endgame ? Of course you freaking saw it! Who hasn't?! Endgame was an epic, emotional, and extravagant finale to this chapter of the MCU and serves as a perfect ending for the original six avengers. Now I was originally going to write my own review for the film but you know what? After seeing it, I just couldn't stop thinking about where the MCU could go after a film of this caliber. So instead, I'm just going to talk about the kind of films I'd love to see in this brand new chapter of the MCU going forward. Now for this list I'm only going to go with properties that Marvel hasn't currently announced plans for. So in other words characters that have been confirmed to get television shows or full on theatrical sequels will not appear on this list. Also be warned, because I will have spoilers for Endgame present when talking about these properties so if you have not seen...
